Use patterns or background to create buttons! Smile
We had some Tutorials about creating buttons. But sometimes you feel a huge block and cannot come up with new designs. At times like these, by using patterns as backgrounds you can use a certain design countless times.

Sample:
Base button:

Search for free to use patterns or backgrounds, put them on a new layer, set the Blend mode to "Overlay" and you can see what a difference a well chosen background image can make. Smile

Another sample:

With patterns:

Pattern background for Buttons Button5

When adding a pattern as background, make sure the added text is clear and readable.

Cool patterns!
By the way, is this applicable to flat buttons?

I think yes, as long as you use a flat pattern the design will remain flat. Smile
My only concern is that flat design usually uses simple one colored buttons, and emphasizes the background with textures and patterns, so I'm not sure how the overall outcome would look like. Very Happy
